Airprint

hhello,

if my printer is not listed on the list of printers for Apple AirPrint, does that mean I will need to buy another printer just to be able to use the AirPrint? I can't understand why it's not one of the ones listed as it is a Brother multi-function laser printer (a good one).

thanks in advance for any response/advance offered.🙂

many printer manufactures have printing apps for their printers for free in app stores

there are also paid apps which support a wide range of printers

and at last netgear genie running on a computer on the same network as the ios device

make all printers connected to the computer AirPrint enabled printers as long as the computer is on

AirPrint is a generic printing interface which apple made if printers support it they can be printed to without third party software

it has nothing to do with if the printer is a good one

I have two older printers at home that don’t support AirPrint but I saw no reason to buy new printers. Instead a purchased a program called Printopia which runs on my Mac. No special software is required for the iPad and when I print I select the printer (which includes printing as a PDF to the computer) and Printopia takes care of the rest. For what it does and how often I use it the price is reasonable.
